Aequor has developed a portfolio of 70+ “green” chemical compounds that are more effective than toxic biocides to control bacteria, fungi, and marine fouling at all stages of growth. Current biocide sales aggregate to $600+ billion annually -- but these chemicals are so harmful that their use is being banned and restricted. Companies are being fined for using them.
Aequor customizes product formulations using its EPA-approved chemicals compounds and provides consulting and testing services to help companies "Go Green" while enjoying significant savings in time, manpower and money and reductions in energy consumption and carbon emissions.
Aequor's early target markets aggregating to US $50 Bn annually, and include:
NASA, DOE, and USDA validated the efficacy of Aequor's chemicals for use in water treatments, ethanol production, and surface cleaners. The NIH and DOD selected Aequor for their prestigious accelerator programs to develop new drug candidates. Aequor's subsidiary in London, Aequor Ltd., won a Phase I EU Horizon 2020 grant in the BioMed category. Aequor is a member of several organizations including the Biotechnology Innovation Organization (BIO), Green Chemistry and Commerce Council (GC3), Antimicrobial Resistance Industry Association, various DOD consortia for biodefense, etc. and won the NASA iTech Award in the Life Support category. Aequor was selected by the U.S. government to represent American Innovation at the Global Entrepreneurship Summit 2019 in The Hague.
Aequor's green, chemicals can replace costly, toxic and ineffective biocides used in thousands of agro-industrial and consumer products and processes.
They work rapidly and save time, manpower, and money, as well as reducing energy consumption and CO2 emissions.
Founder Cynthia Burzell discovered novel chemical compounds in the ocean that uniquely remove contamination caused by bacteria and fungi including the resistant "Superbugs."
Aequor holds patents in the U.S., Canada, EU and under the PCT on the Composition of Matter and Methods of Use of 30+ novel chemical compounds, and on Methods of Use of the natural marine chemicals and 40+ existing structural analogs, of which 25+ are synthesized, available in commercial quantities, registered as "green," non-toxic, EPA-TSCA approved, and validated for incorporation in multiple delivery systems.
Founders are Cynthia K. Burzell, Ph.D., CSO and Marilyn J. Bruno, Ph.D., J.D., CEO. Extended team includes CFO Larry Litowitz and 12 proactive Advisors. K&L Gates LLP, Lee & Hayes, The Acta Group for legal services.

The "Green chemical" sector grew from $11 Billion in 2015 to $89 Billion in 2018. Aequor will participate in this upward trend, reducing the toxic load on ecosystems and organisms and improving plant, animal and human health through the use of sustainable chemicals, while reducing energy consumption and carbon emission.
